A hobbyist can't afford what I can freely spend every month experimenting with platforms, and the majority of people, myself included, do not know how to pirate software. I knew I had to learn 3D modelling, and the ONLY reason I've been able to, is because I can afford the subscription costs of multiple high end products. I'm an advertising product photographer, and realised a few years ago that my days as a physical object creative were coming to an end. Like I say, I don't use Blender, and likely won't until what I'm saying comes to pass, but most other 3D software is doomed long term.
